This Privacy Policy explains what information North Coast Financial, Inc. ("North Coast Financial," "we," "us") collects through probateandtrustloans.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. North Coast Financial is a California licensed real estate broker (DRE Broker #01870870, NMLS ID 323044) that has made private money loans secured by California real estate since 1981. This website is for California trust, probate and estate loans.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the "Request a call back" form, we collect your full name, phone number and email address, the role you select (trustee or successor trustee, executor or administrator, beneficiary or heir, attorney, CPA or fiduciary, real estate agent or broker, or other), and anything you type in the optional message box, such as the property's city or county, a rough loan amount and what the funds are for. If you call or email us, we collect what you tell us.
Information collected when you send the form. Along with your request, the form sends the page you were on, the first page you visited on this site during that visit, the website that referred you, any campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source or a Google click ID), and your Google Analytics browser identifier. It also sends how long the page was open before you pressed send; we use that only to screen out automated spam and do not store it.
Your IP address. To stop repeated automated submissions, our server keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address that sent a form for up to one hour. Like most websites, our host and our security software also record the IP address, browser type, date and time, and pages requested for each visit, which we use to keep the site running and to detect and block attacks.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your device and browser type, your approximate location, and actions you take on the site, such as scrolling, following a link to another site, tapping a phone number, email link or call button, or sending the form. Google signals (Google's cross-device and advertising features) is turned off for this site.
Information stored in your browser. For the length of your visit, the site keeps a note in your browser's session storage of the page you first landed on and how you arrived, so the form can include it. Session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab.
Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google's servers receive your IP address and basic browser information when a page loads.
Calculators. The numbers you enter into the calculators on this site are processed in your browser. They are not sent to us or stored.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to respond to your request and call you back; to discuss, evaluate and quote a loan; to communicate with you about your inquiry; to understand which pages and sources lead people to contact us, so we can improve the site; to prevent spam, fraud and misuse; and to meet our legal, licensing and recordkeeping obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. This site runs no advertising or remarketing tags, and Google signals is turned off in our Google Analytics account.
We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who run the site and our email for us: our website host, DreamHost; our email provider, Zoho Mail, which receives each call back request as an email to our loan team; Google (analytics and fonts); and Wordfence, the security service that protects the site. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- If you apply for a loan, we share what is needed to process and close it, for example with title and escrow companies, valuation providers, and the private investors who fund our loans. Information collected when you apply is also covered by the separate privacy notice you receive at that time.
- Your referring professional. If an attorney, CPA, fiduciary or other professional referred you, we may keep them informed about the status of your request, with your permission.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, our clients or others.
- Business transfers. If North Coast Financial is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Cookies, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies does not stop the site or the form from working. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals are not standardized, and this site does not change its behavior in response to them. Because we do not sell or share personal information, a Global Privacy Control signal does not change what we do; if that ever changes, we will honor it as an opt-out request.
How long we keep information
We keep call back requests and the related emails for as long as we need them to respond to you and to meet the recordkeeping requirements that apply to California real estate brokers.
Our Google Analytics account is set to keep detailed event data for 2 months and data tied to a browser identifier for up to 14 months after that browser's last visit. Our standard Google Analytics reports show only aggregated totals, such as visits per page. The scrambled IP address used to stop repeat form submissions is deleted after one hour.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it and who we shared it with;
- give you a copy of that personal information;
- correct personal information that is inaccurate; and
- delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep as a licensed broker).
You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share it) and to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it for any purpose that would require that choice). We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, call (760) 722-2991 or email contact@northcoastfinancialinc.com. We will verify your request by matching the information you give us with what we have, and we will respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that the agent is authorized and confirm your identity directly.
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code section 1798.83) lets California residents ask which personal information a business shared with third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.
